Can't Take the Sun out of this Sunflower Ring

Easy to enjoy at all times but especially on a rainy day ;-) This sunflower top is made with beautiful and colorful glass. Light loves glass and so it engages it whenever possible making this piece alive and always changing. That's my favorite aspect really! The technique by which this flower is created is called flameworking. One at a time, I melt glass rods in a torch flame and I sculpt this piece one component at a time. I carefully select all the colors and often combine them with powders and frit to add texture and depth. This ring - silver plated - is adjustable. It's initial size is 7 1/4. The top unscrews; other tops made with identical fitting inside can be used.
