Like American Rifle Company and Bighorn/Zermatt small shank actions that utilize 1.055″x20 TPI   Works great with a simple adjustment crescent wrench! Premium stainless steel quality nut! These barrel nuts are precision machined from solid stainless steel and then de-burred. They can also be bead blasted or coated to match the finish of your rifle (Gunsmith recommended.) Mating surface and thread axis are as true as a laser-aligned CNC machine can make them. Used for mounting OEM Savage Small Shank barrels and savage pre-fit barrels. Made in the USA. Will not ship outside USA!     Recommended installation torque is 45-60ftlbs. Users MUST take care to be sure the barrel tenon threads are free of dirt and debris as well as being well lubricated prior to assembly. We use and recommend any of the following thread lubricants for this product: Anti-Seize products either copper or nickel based. Lubriplate 130-A grease (commonly known as M1A grease) Others are available and functional, but we know these products to work well. Installation: Screw the barrel in to set headspace, then tighten the lock nut. Precision machined to close tolerances for optimal fit, alignment, and concentricity. This nut features squared grip notches to fit a standard Savage barrel nut wrench. This makes it a great replacement for rifles with a smooth barrel nut as well as factory rifles being fitted for a new barrel. This barrel nut fits the most common “small shank” Savage rifle barrels with 1-1/16 x20 threads.
